Black Cherry Cake

This cake is the first whole cake that I make with decoration...did it in June 2005 during the "baking class" with Shiang Yuan and Shumin.....my decoration skill was not that good that time.....taste of the cake not bad....=)

Serving:8

Ingredients:
(A) 4 egg whites, 100g castor sugar
(B) 4 egg yolks, 120g castor sugar
(C) 3 tbsps corn oil
(D) 230g plain flour, 1 tsp baking powder
(E) 500g fresh cream, 400g black cherry jam, 8 cherries, chocolate rice

Directions:
1. Preheat oven at 150*C,brush 8 inches cake pan with butter.
2. Whisk (A) and beat (B)(until creamy) seperately, then stir (A) and (B) together. Add in (D) mix well and stir in corn oil in one same direction.
3. Pour batter into cake pan, bake at 150*C for 45 mins. Remove and leave it to cool at the colling rack. Then cut into 2 layers.
4. Brush a thin layer of fresh cream on cale,spread black cherries jam on top and cover with another layer of cake. Cover cake with fresh cream. Then make decoration. Ready to serve.
